Field Applications Engineer
Elmos North America is actively seeking for a Field Applications Engineer to join their team. The position can be remote (anywhere in the USA) or in the Plymouth, MI office.
About the role:
This position is part of our applications team and titled Field Applications Engineer. The individual would be responsible to provide Technical Support for some automotive tier 1, OEM, and non-automotive customers. This position reports to the Field Applications Engineering Manager.
Qualifications:
Bachelors or master’s degree in Electrical/Electronic or Computer engineering.
BSEE/MSEE with background in signals and systems and/or analog power management.
2-5 Years with automotive electronics design and/or mixed embedded HW+SW design
Ability to interface directly with customers and solve customer problems.
Ability to work independently with strong analytic skills, self-motivated and excellent interpersonal skills.
Strong communication and presentation skills.
Experience and/or education with discrete, digital logic and/or power management circuit design.
Experience with electronics lab equipment including, but not limited to soldering, oscilloscopes, signal generators, spectrum analyzers, electronic loads, logic analyzers, etc.
Experience and/or Education for schematic capture, PCB layouts, as well as simulation, and analysis tools such as PSpice, MATLAB, MathCAD highly preferred
Experience with C and/or C++ Programming preferred.
Automotive embedded SW development for ARM controllers preferred.
Automotive experience in embedded application such as lighting, motor control and/or ADAS sensors preferred
Familiarity with automotive product development process such as PPAP & APQP and qualification (AEC-Q100) preferred.
Previous field applications engineering experience preferred.
Willing to travel up to 20% of the time to support customer design and troubleshooting efforts.
Responsibilities:
Contribute to Elmos North America’s US revenue growth through direct and indirect technical activities.
Support SW debug and conceptual architecture development for embedded systems
Troubleshoot circuits and assist with external component selection and PCB layout.
Develop solid technical understanding of Elmos products to support related applications.
Gather potential market moves and competitor activities for Elmos product strategy.
Support Elmos North America sales team, sales reps and distribution network with Technical Support.
Perform laboratory testing with Elmos evaluation boards and/or customers and products.
Demonstrate system solutions, evaluation boards and reference designs.
Create and develop hardware and software demos and applications examples to illustrate Elmos product functionality and features.
Develop supporting documentation, analysis and application notes for new product and design.
Collaborate with Elmos’ global FAE and Sales Teams to jointly support and coordinate support activities for global customers.
